Hong Li, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of Cambodia Asian Film Festival, Attends the Asian Art Film Festival to Promote Cross-Cultural Integration of Cinematic Art

The 2nd Asian Art Film Festival was held in Macao, China from May 19 to 22, 2026. Hong Li, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of Cambodia Asian Film Festival, attended as a representative of a key partner. Her visit strengthens cooperation between Cambodia, Macao and other Asian regions in film production, talent exchange and cross-border screenings. Showcasing numerous outstanding Asian art films, the festival brings fresh impetus to coordinated development of the regional film industry.

Shin Yubin, Cambodia's iconic actress, served as the Festival's Cultural Ambassador for Cambodia and took part in all relevant events. Endowed with remarkable performing talent and cultural influence, she acts as a communication bridge linking Cambodia to the pan-Asian film circle, promotes Khmer film culture overseas and facilitates cultural exchanges across Asia.

The Golden Seagull Awards Ceremony took place on the evening of May 21. As a guest presenter, Hong Li awarded the trophy for Best Narrative Feature in the Local Chronicle category to the crew of As The Water Flows and took group photos with winners.

The festival serves as an in-depth cross-regional cinematic exchange platform. A rigorous jury evaluates all entries comprehensively covering narrative, performance, cinematography and behind-the-scenes production. The Lychee Road and Blood Type won Best Feature Film. Xiao Zhan claimed Best Actor and Lan Xiaolong won Best Original Screenplay for Gezhi Town. Veteran performers including Feng Shaofeng and Yang Xiucuo gained industry recognition, while Dongji Island, co-directed by Guan Hu and Fei Zhenxiang, boasts striking visual appeal. Sri Lankan film Riverstone and Raindrops on a Roof were honored for Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction respectively. Two documentaries Zhuhuan and Never Too Late claimed top documentary awards, delivering touching warmth through authentic footage of nature and humanity.

As an important partner of the festival, the Cambodian Asian Film Festival is greatly honored by this collaboration. Moving forward, we will cooperate with film institutions across Asia to expand cross-border cinematic exchanges, support outstanding Asian filmmakers and productions to reach global audiences, and continuously fuel the long-term growth of Asian cinema.
