First Batch Shortlist Unveiled for the “Asian Honor” Unit of the 4th CAFF

In July, the “Asian Honor” Unit of the 4th Cambodia Asian Film Festival (CAFF) officially announced its first batch of shortlisted films.

Mist rising from the Mekong drifts across celluloid, while monsoon winds carry Asian stories to Phnom Penh. This year's shortlisted films sharply capture the heartbeat of contemporary Asia. Training their lenses on marginalized voices and probing existential questions through narratives, they carve luminous openings between bold aesthetic experimentation and in-depth cultural exploration, leading audiences to realms of reality and imagination. These cinematic works hailing from diverse lands stand not only as vivid testimony to Asia's thriving filmmaking creativity, but also invite collective reflection on how we observe, remember and envision the world.

Soon to be screened at the 4th Cambodia Asian Film Festival, they will engage Cambodian and global audiences in a wordless yet stirring dialogue. As the theater screens light up, the monsoon spirit of Asian cinema will sweep over every attendee.
