A remarkably accomplished creator, he is a multiple Oscar nominee, with two Academy Awards and sixteen Emmy Awards to his credit. His celebrated works such as Better Angels and A Long Cherished Dream strike a chord with audiences through authentic, nuanced storytelling, embodying his profound insight into diverse cultures and masterful narrative craftsmanship. Teddy Chan

Hong Kong Chinese Director, Screenwriter, Actor & Producer 

Equipped with extensive industry experience, Teddy Chan pioneered a new wave of intelligent action thrillers with his 1997 production Downtown Torpedoes. In 2009, he directed the action epic Bodyguards and Assassins, which won Best Film at the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards, earning him his first Best Director accolade at the same ceremony. His 2014 martial arts thriller Kung Fu Jungle secured him the Best Director Award at the 3rd London Chinese Film Festival.

Chhay Bora

Cambodian Director, Screenwriter & Producer

Chhay Bora's filmography centers on social realities, crafting influential works defined by distinctive perspectives and incisive observation. Blending traditional Khmer elements with modern cinematic language, his films hold a pivotal position within Cambodia's domestic film industry and have earned widespread international acclaim. His 2010 feature Lost Loves received a nomination for Best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Academy Awards, showcasing the unique charm and strength of Cambodian cinema to the world.

Zhou Ziyang

Young Chinese Director & Screenwriter

Born in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, Zhou Ziyang made his self-written and self-directed debut Old Beast in 2017. The film delves into social realities and human struggles in Ordos through a unique lens, winning the Special Mention in the Asian Future Competition at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival and Best Original Screenplay at the 54th Golden Horse Awards. He also took home the Young Director of the Year Award from the 9th China Film Directors Guild for this work. His second feature Wu Hai premiered in 2019, garnering a Golden Shell nomination and the FIPRESCI Prize at the 68th San Sebastián International Film Festival. The film generated far-reaching cultural and social impact, elevating the global standing of new-generation Chinese filmmakers.

Sovichea Cheap

Renowned Cambodian Producer 

Sovichea Cheap entered the local film industry in 1988, undertaking production design and other on-set roles before establishing himself as a producer. He has lent his expertise to more than a hundred domestic and international projects spanning TV series, documentaries and narrative feature films. His prominent international credits include Same Same But Different, First They Killed My Father and Buoyancy. Throughout his career, he has remained steadfast in advancing cross-cultural exchange through motion pictures.
